Sedation Dentistry

Sedation Dentistry is offered at both of my office locations in Naples and Marco Island. Our office is one of the few Dental offices that will offer this type of service. Sedation dentistry can reduce or eliminate a patient’s pre-treatment anxiety immediately prior to their appointment. Our patients can enjoy less discomfort and anxiety during the procedure and it can also reduce post-treatment soreness following the appointment.  With sedation dentistry, you can receive a longer appointment and stay relaxed throughout the treatment process, consider it a nice way to lose track of time a little bit!  Sedation Dentistry helps to make the Patient and Doctor relationship stronger, while reducing the overall level of anxiety.

There are two types of sedation that we offer at our offices: IV Sedation and Oral Sedation. IV sedation allows the Sedative/Narcotic Drugs to be administered which will take an immediate effect. It creates an efficient and predictable method to help keep the patient relaxed and stress free during a procedure. IV Sedation requires a special permit that is granted by the State of Florida, one of our general dentists and Dr. Bradley Engle both holds this permit. This allows us to be able to complete comprehensive dental treatment together on a sedated patient. Oral Sedation can provide a modest level of sedation. However, the deepness of the sedation is less controlled and the effect of taking additional pills could delay in getting started on the Treatment.  

Despite choosing IV or Oral sedation, the results can help complete your Dental requirements in a more relaxing state of mind.
