The computer aided tomography scan, or CAT scan, is a key element of Dr. Engle's practice. An assistant will seat the patient comfortably according to device requirements. The head is lined up with light rays that show the exact position during the scan. Correct positioning ensures the sharpness of the images produced by the scanner. The complete picture is taken in 20 seconds and is a highly detailed, three-dimensional x-ray view which allows Dr. Engle to make an in-depth analysis of the case. This extra diagnostic capability has been greatly appreciated by all the patients at our practice.
